The Tahitian pearl is the result of rigorous expertise and a deep respect for nature. At Robert Wan, pearl cultivation follows a five-step process, guaranteeing exceptional gems.

Collection of spat
Oyster larvae ( Pinctada margaritifera ) are collected in pure and protected waters, ensuring optimal conditions for their development.
Breeding
The young oysters are raised for several months until they reach a suitable size for grafting. During this period, they are regularly cleaned and monitored to ensure their health.
Graft
A delicate operation involves inserting a nucleus (usually a mother-of-pearl bead) and a fragment of tissue from a donor oyster into the recipient oyster. This step triggers the formation of the pearl.
Culture
The grafted oysters are returned to the sea, suspended in crystal-clear lagoons. For 18 to 24 months, they secrete layers of mother-of-pearl around the nucleus, gradually forming the pearl.
Harvest
Pearls are carefully extracted, cleaned, and evaluated according to strict quality criteria. Only pearls that meet the high standards of Robert Wan are selected.
Each step is carried out with meticulous attention, reflecting Robert Wan's commitment to excellence and sustainability.
